This is a peek at the pictures, cards and prints that decorate a whole wall of our kitchen. I’m a bit of a pack rat, even though I try to fight it, and I’ve always collected paper, cards, stickers, etc. I like to be reminded of the things that make me happy. It is also an amazing conversation piece. We just keep adding to it when the right things come along. It’s kind of a giant scrapbook.

After hearing the 99% Invisible podcast about the missing Liberty of Mt. Olympus, I just had to make the trek up. There are still some great views, but the condos and trees have both been allowed to grow up a bit over the years. And, of course, there’s no statue.

Anyway, as I made my way up the hill, I came upon a Bay Area Ridge Trail wayfinding sign pointing towards a stairway; I missed this matching sticker on the trudge up, but on the way down it caught my eye. Prior to spotting the sign or sticker, I’d never heard of the Trail.

Honestly the sign and sticker were pretty useless for wayfinding, since they seemed to be the only ones in the area (I saw no other signs on my way up Twin Peaks, which is also on the Trail), but it’d be pretty difficult to thoroughly sign 338 miles—much less the planned 550—so I guess I can cut ‘em some slack.
