Best Eye Make Up Remover-Can i remove my foundation by using the eye remover?

Question by flowerymae: Can i remove my foundation by using the eye remover?
Can i use the eye remover to remove the foundation on my face? will it clean well? i heard that baby wipes can be used to remove the make up too, does it work ? will it harm the face?

Answer by natiboo
Go for the baby wipes. The advantage to baby wipes is that they are purposely made for a baby’s sensitive skin, meaning they are less likely to irritate your face.

In terms of brand, I like Huggies wipes better than any of them. They’re thicker and don’t tear when you’re wiping or pulling them out of the box. We’ve tried all generic and brands of wipes and the Huggies are the best. Plus you can get 720 of them at Sam’s Club for $ 15!!!!

Creature Shop
A number of video screens here progressively show what it was like to work in the creature shop, cleverly leading you from one screen to the next.

Makeup Effects
Creature Shop artisans transformed many cast members into magical beings like goblins, werewolves and even the Dark Lord himself, using applied makeup pieces called prosthetics.

Design
The Art Department provided the Creature Shop with initial sketches and drawings of each creature and character. From there artists transformed the images into three-dimensional models called maquettes.

Moulding
Once the designs were approved, makeup appliances were sculpted to fit the performers. Models of actors’ mouthes, heads, arms or entire bodies were cast which artists used to create and test new prosthetic pieces.

Application
Multiple copies of each prosthetic were made from silicone or foam. Then, makeup artists carefully glued each piece to cast members’ heads and bodies, a process that took just a few minutes for Voldemort’s eyebrows and up to three hours for a Gringotts goblin.

Filming
Because of the hot lights in the studio and actor movement, makeup artsits were standing by on set to touch up smeared lightning bolt scars, broken goblin ears or crooked teeth.

Hagrid
The Creature Shop built this enormous animatronic head with moving eyes and lips based on a mould of actor Robbie Coltrane’s actual face. The head was worn by stunt doubles during Hagrid’s action scenes and in wide shots.

Hogwarts Castle Model – Get a 360 degree view of the incredible, hand sculpted 1:24 scale construction that features within the Studio Tour. The Hogwarts castle model is the jewel of the Art Department having been built for the first film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. It took 86 artists and crew members to construct the first version which was then rebuilt and altered many times over for the next seven films. The work was so extensive that if one was to add all the man hours that have gone into building and reworking the model, it would come to over 74 years. The model was used for aerial photography, and was digitally scanned for CGI scenes.

The model, which sits at nearly 50 feet in diameter, has over 2,500 fibre optic lights that simulate lanterns and torches and even gave the illusion of students passing through hallways in the films. To show off the lighting to full effect a day-to-night cycle will take place every four minutes so you can experience its full beauty.

An amazing amount of detail went into the making of the model: all the doors are hinged, real plants are used for landscaping and miniature birds are housed in the Owlery. To make the model appear even more realistic, artists rebuilt miniature versions of the courtyards from Alnwick Castle and Durham Cathedral, where scenes from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone were shot.

Longan Growing in the Florida Home Landscape1
Other common names: English – lungan, dragon eye; Spanish – mamoncillo chino, longana; Malaysian and Indonesian – leng keng; Thai – lam yai

Scientific name: Dimocarpus longan Lour.

Synonyms: Nephelium longan (Lam.) Carm.; Euphoria longana Steud.

Family: Sapindaceae

Relatives in the same family: Lychee, rambutan, pulasan, akee, Spanish lime, soapberry

Origin: Mayanmar (Burma), southern China, southwest India, Sri Lanka, Indochinese peninsula

Distribution: China, Taiwan, Thailand, Mayanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, India, Australia, Kenya, some Central and South American countries, and South Africa. In the United States longan is grown in Hawaii, California and south Florida. The longan was introduced to the United States in 1903. Commercial acreage in southern Florida was planted in the 1990s and continues to the present.

Importance: Economically the longan is an important crop in southeast Asia and is of increasing importance in Florida.

Botanical Description
Longan tree. Fig. 2. ‘Kohala’ longan tree with fruit.
Credits: Ian Maguire UF/IFAS/TREC
Tree: The longan is a symmetrical, evergreen tree with dense dark green foliage. Depending upon climate and soil type the tree may grow over 100 ft (31 m) tall. However, in south Florida, trees typically grow to 30-40 ft (9.1-12.2 m) in height and width. The crown tends to be round or oblong and the bark is corky.

Longan leaves. Fig. 3. ‘Kohala’ longan leaves.

Leaves: The pinnately compound alternate leaves are dark green, shiny, leathery, up to 12 inches (30 cm) long with wavy margins and blunt pointed tips. There are 6 to 9 pairs of leaflets per leaf.

Longan flowers. Fig. 4. ‘Kohala’ longan panicle in flower.
Credits: Ian Maguire UF/IFAS/TREC
Flowers: Inflorescences are terminal, 4 to 18 inches (10-45 cm) long, erect and widely branched. The inflorescence is commonly called a panicle. Flowers on the panicle are held on numerous cymules on the many branchlets of the panicle. The flowers are small and have 5 to 6 sepals and petals, and are brownish yellow or greenish yellow, with a two-lobed pistil and usually 8 stamens. Panicles may carry a few to more than 350 fruit. There are 3 flower types in longan, staminate (functionally male), pistillate (functionally female) and hermaphroditic (bisexual). Flowering in each panicle occurs in progressive openings of staminate (male) flowers first, then hermaphroditic flowers functioning as females and then hermaphroditic flowers functioning as males.

‘Kohola’ longan. Fig. 5. ‘Kohala’ longan fruit.
Credits: Ian Maguire UF/IFAS/TREC
Fruit: The drupaceous fruit are spherical to ovoid, ¾ to 1 7/16 inches (22-36 mm) in diameter and 0.21 to 0.67 oz (6-19 g) in weight. The peel is tan or light brown, thin, leathery and smoother than that of the lychee. The pulp is whitish and translucent; thin in large seeded fruits and medium thick to thick in others. Fruit have 1 seed; globular and shiny, brown to dark brown. The pulp does not adhere to the seed and is flavorful and sweet with 12-21% soluble solids. The time from flowering to harvest is 140 to 190 days.

Season of bearing: The main bloom season for longans in south Florida is from February/March through April and the beginning of May. However, some cultivars will produce off-season blooms after the crop is harvested in late August and September. The off-season crop matures in the fall.

Varieties
There are numerous cultivars of longan; however, world-wide only 30 to 40 are grown commercially. Reliable bearing is the major production problem for longan throughout the world. In Florida, 99% of the acreage is planted with ‘Kohala’. Other cultivars have been introduced, some for a long time and others recently (Table 1). A number of new and re-introductions including ‘Edau’ (‘Daw’), ‘Chompoo’, ‘Haew’, and ‘Biew Kiew’ are under evaluation by several institutions and producers. However, nothing superior to ‘Kohala’ has been identified.

One of the recently introduced cultivars is named ‘Diamond River’. This cultivar is from Thailand and is reported to fruit every year, be precocious, produce off-season, and produce a sizeable late season crop. However, fruit quality is only fair and the tree is very susceptible to limb breakage.

Climate
Longan is a subtropical tree well adapted to tropical climates with distinctive wet/dry periods and subtropical areas with a cool, nonfreezing fall/winter period. Longans are indigenous to lowland and middle elevations in southeast Asia and grow at elevations from sea level to 1500 feet (1.8-460 m).

Longans produce more reliably in areas characterized by low non-freezing temperatures (59°F; 15°C or less) and a dry period during the fall and winter (October-February). Warm temperatures (70-85°F; 21-29°C) during spring, followed by high summer temperatures (80-95°F; 27-35°C) and nonlimiting soil moisture are best for fruit development.

Warm and rainy winters are conducive to vegetative growth and reduce flowering and fruit production. Excessive rains during flowering cause flower drop and may reduce pollination and fruit set. Young longan leaves are sensitive to strong winds during vegetative flushing which may result in leaf dehydration, browning and deformation.

Environmental Stress Physiology
Drought
Longan is tolerant of dry soil conditions. Withholding or reducing watering during the late summer/early fall through winter is recommended to stop or reduce excessive vegetative growth and enhance subsequent flowering during the spring. However, for optimum fruit production and quality, regular irrigation is recommended from flowering through harvest.

Flood
Longan is not tolerant of excessively wet or flooded soil conditions When ambient temperatures are high, young trees may decline and die with as little as 5 to 10 days of flooding or constantly wet soil conditions.

Cold
Longan is slightly less cold tolerant than lychee. Young trees are very susceptible to freezing temperatures with severe damage at 29° to 31°F (-1 to –0.5°C) and may be killed at 26° to 28°F (-2 to –3°C). Older trees are more cold tolerant but branches are injured at 25° to 26°F (-3 to -4°C) with very severe damage or death below 24°F (-4°C).

Wind
Longan trees are tolerant of windy conditions and young trees can generally be established on windy sites. Mature trees pruned to limit their hieght to 10 to 20 ft (3.1-6.1 m) are more likely to survive hurricane force winds. The most common damage from hurricane winds is toppling over of the trees and loss of most limbs. Windy, dry, cool weather during flowering desiccates flowers and reduces fruit set.

Salt
Longan is not tolerant of saline soil and water conditions. Symptoms of salt stress include marginal and tip necrosis of leaves, leaf browning and drop, stem dieback, and tree death.

Propagation
Longan may be grown from seed, however, cultivars do not come true from seed, may be slow to bear, and the fruit of inferior quality. Seedlings may be used for selection of new cultivars or rootstocks. Air layering (marcottage) is the most common propagation method used in Florida. April through August is the best time for air layering and roots form within 10 to 12 weeks. Grafting onto seedling rootstock may be done by side veneer or cleft grafting. Seedlings are usually grafted when pencil size (3/8th inch; 8 mm) or larger stem diameter. Trees may be top-worked by grafting onto selected vigorous shoots. Trees may also be propagated by cuttings with mist and bottom heat.

Production (Crop Yields)
Seedling trees may take up to 6 years to bear fruit, whereas air layered trees may bear fruit 2 to 3 years after planting. In general, longan trees bear erratically (i.e., not every year) and in some years little to no fruit is produced. Yields from individual mature trees may range from 50 to over 500 lbs (23-227 kg).

Spacing
Longans grow fairly fast and at maturity, are large trees. Homeowners should plant longan trees 22 to 25 ft (6.7-7.6 m) or more away from other trees and structures. Trees planted too close to other trees or structures may not grow normally or produce much fruit due to shading.

Soils
Longan trees thrive on various soil types provided they are well drained. They do well on sandy loams, sand and calcareous, rocky soils of south Florida.

Planting a Longan Tree
Properly planting a longan tree is one of the most important steps in successfully establishing and growing a strong, productive tree. The first step is to choose a healthy nursery tree. Commonly, nursery longan trees are grown in 3 gallon containers and trees stand 2 to 4 ft (0.6-0.9 m) from the soil media. Large trees in smaller containers should be avoided as the root system may be "root bound". This means all the available space in the container has been filled with roots to the point that the root system becomes compacted within the container. Root bound root systems may not grow properly once planted in the ground.

Inspect the tree for insect pests and diseases and inspect the trunk of the tree for wounds and constrictions. Select a healthy tree and water it regularly in preparation for planting in the ground.

Planting may be done at any time in south Florida if there is access to water. Otherwise, the best time to plant is in late spring or early summer during the rainy season.

Site Selection
In general, longan trees should be planted in full sun for best growth and fruit production. Select a part of the landscape away from other trees, buildings and structures, and powerlines. Remember longan trees can become very large if not pruned to contain their size. Select the warmest area of the landscape that does not flood (or remain wet) after typical summer rainfall events.

Planting in Sandy Soil
Many areas in Florida have sandy soil. Remove a 3 to 10 ft (0.9-3.1 m) diameter ring of grass sod. Dig a hole 3 to 4 times the diameter and 3 times a deep as the container the longan tree has come in. Making a large hole loosens the soil adjacent to the new tree making it easy for the roots to expand into the adjacent soil. It is not necessary to apply fertilizer, topsoil, or compost to the hole. In fact, placing topsoil or compost in the hole first and then planting on top of it is not desirable. If you wish to add topsoil or compost to the native soil, mix it with the soil excavated from making the hole in no more than a 50-50 ratio.

Backfill the hole with some of the native soil removed to make the hole. Remove the tree from the container and place it in the hole so that the top of the soil media in the container is level with or slightly above the surrounding soil level. Fill soil in around the tree roots and tamp slightly to remove air pockets. Immediately water the soil around the tree and tree roots. Staking the tree with a wooden or bamboo stake is optional. However, do not use wire or nylon rope to tie the tree to the stake as they may eventually damage the tree trunk as it grows. Use a cotton or natural fiber string that will degrade slowly.

Planting in Rockland Soil
Many areas in Miami-Dade County have a very shallow soil and several inches below the soil surface is a hard calcareous bedrock. Remove a 3 to 10 ft (0.9-3.1 m) diameter ring of grass sod. Make a hole 3 to 4 times the diameter and 3 times a deep as the container the longan tree has come in. To dig a hole there are several options use a pick and digging bar to break up the rock or contract with a company that has augering equipment or a backhoe. Plant as described in the previous section.

Planting on a Mound
Many areas in Florida are within 7 ft or so of the water table and experience occasional flooding after heavy rainfall events. To improve plant survival consider planting fruit trees on a 2 to 3 ft (0.6-0.9 m) (1.2-3.1 m) high by 4 to 10 ft diameter mound of native soil.

After the mound is made, dig a hole 3 to 4 times the diameter and 3 times a deep as the container the longan tree has come in. In areas where the bedrock nearly comes to the surface (rockland soil) follow the recommendations for the previous section. In areas with sandy soil follow the recommendations from the section on planting in sandy soil.

Care of Longan Trees in the Home Landscape
A calendar outlining the month-to-month cultural practices for longan is shown in Table 2.

Fertilizer
A month after planting spread 1/4 lb (113 g) per tree of a young tree fertilizer, such as 6-6-6 (% nitrogen-% phosphate-% potassium) with minor elements with 20 to 30% of the nitrogen from organic sources. Repeat this every 6 to 8 weeks for the first year. Then, gradually increase the amount of fertilizer to 0.5, 0.75, 1.0 lb etc., (227 g, 341 g, 454 g, etc.) as the trees grow. Four to 6 dry fertilizer applications per year may be made up to the third year (Table 3).

A foliar fertilizer mix composed of minor nutrients (manganese, zinc, boron, and molybdenum) and magnesium may be applied 4 to 6 times per tree per year any time from April to September. For trees in acid to neutral soils apply iron sulfate at 0.25 to 1 oz per tree to the soil 2 to 4 timers per year. In alkaline soils with a high pH, drench the soil with iron chelate 2 to 3 times per year from June through September. To make a soil drench, mix 0.5 to 0.75 oz (14-21 g) of iron chelate with 4 to 5 gallons (14-19 liters) of water and pour on to the soil adjacent to the tree trunk.

For mature trees, 2.5 to 5.0 lbs of fertilizer per application 2 to 3 times per year is recommended. The fertilizer should be applied just prior or at bloom, perhaps during late spring, and again just before or at harvest. The fertilizer mix should also include phosphate (P2O5) and potash (K2O); use a 6-6-6, 8-3-9 or similar material.

Irrigation (Watering)
Young trees should be irrigated regularly to facilitate tree establishment and growth. Once trees begin to bear (3 to 4 years after planting), trees should be irrigated regularly from flowering through harvest. Research from other regions has suggested that mild drought stress during the fall (September or October) and early winter enhances flowering in late winter or early spring.

Insect Pests
Longans have a few insect problems in south Florida. The most common pests are the lychee webworm and several scale insects. The lychee webworm (Crocidosema new species) attacks emerging shoots and panicles, flowers and young fruit and if left uncontrolled drastically reduce fruit set and crop yields. Scales include the banana shaped (Coccus acutissimus) and barnacle (Ceroplastes spp.) scales, which attack mostly the underside of leaves and the philephedra scale (Phillephedra tuberculosa) that attacks leaves and fruit. Adult citrus blue-green weevil (Pachnaeus litus), little leaf notcher (Artipus floridanus) and diaprepes weevil (Diaprepes abbreviatus) feed on leaves and their larvae feed on roots. They are mostly a problem in marl and sandy soils. Please contact your local County Cooperative Extension Service for current control recommendations.

Diseases
There are no major disease problems of longan at the present time. Red alga (Cephaleuros virescens) attacks limbs and shoots and is most prevalent during high humidity, warm, rainy weather. Symptoms include dark gray to reddish-rust colored patches or spots on bark and/or leaves. In severe infections, leaf drop and stem die back occur. Parasitic lichen (Strigula sp.) may parasitize leaves. Symptoms include white star-shaped spots on leaf surfaces. This lichen colonizes leaves reducing their ability to photosynthesize. Please contact your local County Cooperative Extension Service for current control recommendations.

Weeds
Weeds compete for water and nutrients and will slow tree establishment. Prior to planting trees, remove sod from the area the tree is to be planted in. Grass and weeds should be kept away from the tree trunk. Placing a 2 to 4 inch (5-10 cm) thick layer of mulch will suppress weed and grass growth and hold soil moisture.

Other Pests
Birds such as boat-tailed crackles (Cássidix mexicánus) and monk parakeets (Myiopsitta monachus) may feed on the fruit. Bagging the fruit in paper bags and netting may be used to exclude these birds if they become a major problem.

Longan Trees and Lawn Care
Longan trees in the home landscape are susceptible to trunk injury caused by lawn mowers and weed eaters. Maintain a grass-free area 2 to 5 or more away from the trunk of the tree. Never hit the tree trunk with lawn mowing equipment and never use a weed eater near the tree trunk. Mechanical damage to the trunk of the tree will result in weakening the tree and if severe enough can cause the tree to dieback or die.

Roots of mature longan trees spread beyond the drip-line of the tree canopy and heavy fertilization of the lawn adjacent to longan tree is not recommended and may reduce fruiting and or fruit quality. The use of lawn sprinkler systems on a timer may result in over watering and cause longan tree to decline. This is because too much water, too often is being applied which results in root rot.

Mulch
Mulching longan trees in the home landscape helps retain soil moisture, reduces weed problems adjacent to the tree trunk, and improves the soil near the surface. Mulch with a 2 to 6 inch (5-15 cm) layer of bark, wood chips, or similar mulch material. Keep mulch 8 to 12 inches (20-30 cm) from the trunk.

Tree Training and Pruning
Young Trees
Young longan trees are usually not trained in south Florida. However, young longan trees typically produce 2 to 5 long branches; making a scraggly tree structure with few terminals. However, several techniques will improve tree structure and bearing surface area. At planting or soon afterward, remove limbs with a narrow crotch angle. To force new shoot growth and increase the number of new shoots either bend long upright limbs to a horizontal position by tying or head back upright limbs. Shoot tip removal (removing 1-2 inches of the end of new shoots), once or twice during spring and summer will increase branching and make the tree more compact.

Mature Trees
Tree size control is done to facilitate spraying and picking and to maintain high light levels from the bottom to the top of the tree. It also greatly reduces the potential damage sustained due to hurricanes and strong winds. As trees mature, most of the pruning is done to control tree size (height and width), and to maintain production of the lower tree canopy and light on all sides of the canopy.

Longan trees in the home landscape may be pruned by hand or with gas/oil or electrical cutting tools by selectively thinning out a few moderate and small sized limbs each year. Trees kept 10 to 15 ft high (3.1-4.6 m) and 15 to 30 ft (4.6-9.1 m) wide are easier to care for and pick. They are also less likely to topple during strong winds. If the canopy of the tree becomes too dense, selective removal of some branches will increase air circulation and light penetration.

Longan fruit set varies greatly among trees and years. In some years, individual longan panicles set in excess of 300 fruit. However, panicles with 150 or more fruit usually produce small fruit. Removing about 50% of the set fruit during the spring usually results in a large increase in fruit size. Thinning is best done when fruit are ¼ to ½ inches (6-12 mm) in diameter and consists of removing one half to two-thirds of the distal (terminal) end of each panicle.

Harvest, Ripening, and Storage
The longan harvest season in south Florida is from the middle of July to early September but is mainly in August. At maturity, the fruit will be an intense tan color. The main ripeness indicator is pulp sweetness; this occurs before removing the fruit from the tree. Fruit that is 1¼ inches (32 mm) or greater in diameter with good flavor is most desirable. Once removed from the tree, the fruit will not increase in sweetness.

Fruit is harvested by hand, with pruning shears or a pole with a cutter that holds the entire cluster. Usually, a portion of the branch behind the fruit-bearing panicle (about 1 ft; 30 cm) is cut. Harvested fruit should be placed in the shade immediately and then cooled as soon as possible. Longan fruit have a relatively short shelf life when stored at ambient temperatures of 75-85oF (24-29oC). Fruit harvested at home may be placed in plastic bags and kept in the refrigerator for 5 to 7 days.

Uses and Nutritional Value
Longan trees make excellent specimen or shade trees and enhance the landscape with their dark-green foliage. Longans produced in south Florida are consumed fresh or are frozen for later consumption. Fruit may be frozen whole in polyethylene bags or air-tight containers. In other producing countries fruit are dried and canned. This helps to popularize the fruit by extending the normally very short season. The fruit is a good source of potassium and low in calories (Table 4).

Eyes Make Up-What eye makeup would make my small eyes look bigger?

Question by Natashia: What eye makeup would make my small eyes look bigger?
Okay so my eyes are pretty small, and sometimes they make me look chinese. Right now I use dark purple eyeliner on the bottom of my eye, and little on the outer part of my eye, and no eyeshadow. I have long eyelashes and they kind of help, but I need to know different eye shadow colors, and techniques to make my eyes look bigger.
Thanks!
Oh yes, and my eyes are dark brown.
I have eyeshadow from sephora for brown eyes.
Would a shade of purple work?

Best answer:

Answer by Andree Fowl
you should put eyeshadow especially on the shades of brown or whatever is closest to your skin color so it would emphasize more.

3 different shades of brown would help.

PS
the girl at the bottom of my answer is stupid. :)

hope this helps.

Great Eye Make Up For Small Eyes image-Eyes of an Adult Female Phidippus putnami Jumping Spider

A few nice eye make up for small eyes images I found:

Eyes of an Adult Female Phidippus putnami Jumping Spider
eye make up for small eyes

Here’s a shot of the Anterior Median and Anterior Lateral Eyes of an adult female Phidippus putnami. I actually found (and photographed – see here) this spider as a sub-adult on July 9th, and to my delight, a few weeks later – found her again as a matured adult!

She must have just molted as she was in absolutely immaculate condition – perfectly clean eyes, no lost scales, no messed up hair… and to top it all off – she was quite cooperative while I photographed her! Of course, (like nearly all salticids) she made a few leaps to the camera and my hands – but in general – she was pretty easy to work with. I was able to capture the image above once she backed up into a little "cave" in the folds of my t-shirt (which I had removed and layed out on a railing). Once she settled down and relaxed in the darkness, I very slowly and gently moved some of the cloth out of the way with my left hand (as seen in the reflection in her eyes) and proceeded to fire away with my right.

I realize many of my photos don’t really have imaginative or dynamic compositions, (I often fall into the trap of just photographing things centered, straight on, and level) but I don’t take these photos to create works of art – I take them to provide clear, accurate, and informative views of these astounding animals for the public. Understand that the subject is the source of the beauty and the photograph is completely secondary. The photo above (a crop) is a manual focus stack of 4 images taken at about 4:1 with the 28mm reversed on extension tubes at f/8.

The Eye of the Tiger
eye make up for small eyes

Image by Stuck with my Camera
September 2013 – Tigers (Panthera Tigris) is the largest cat species and are magnificent creatures, majestic, noble, iconic, reaching a total body length of up to 3.3 m and weighing up to 306 kg. Tigers once ranged widely across Asia, from Turkey in the west to the eastern coast of Russia. Over the past 100 years, they have lost 93% of their historic range, and have been extirpated from southwest and central Asia, from the islands of Java and Bali, and from large areas of Southeast and Eastern Asia. All of the remaining six tiger subspecies have been classified as endangered by IUCN.
However, sadly, they are near extinction. Please support the efforts to save the tiger and the other magnificent creatures on our planet. Panthera is an amazing charity that tries to save the big cats. It’s head, Alan Rabinowitz is an amazing person, dedicating his life to these big cats. WWF for Nature does the same but for all animals. Across their range, tigers face unrelenting pressure from poaching, retaliatory killings and habitat loss. They are forced to compete for space with dense and often growing human populations. Current estimations say that tigers may become extinct in the next
Tigers have lost 93% of their historic range. Their habitat has been destroyed, degraded and fragmented by human activities, including the clearing of forests for agriculture and timber trade and development activities such as the building of road networks. Fewer tigers can survive in small, scattered islands of habitat, which lead to a higher risk of inbreeding. These small islands of habitat also make tigers more vulnerable to poaching.

Just something to think about…..

I took this in the Allwetterzoo Münster, an amazing zoo. Huge cages, amazing facilities. They have apes, monkeys, big cats, elephants, seals, penguins, wolves, birds to name a few. I went there and stayed until the sun started to sink. That created a lovely light, and I won’t forget some of those experiences.

Plot

—– Quitters, Inc. ….Cigarette smoker Dick Morrison (James Woods), recommended by a friend, joins Quitters, Inc. to kick his habit. Clinic counselor Dr. Vinnie Donatti (Alan King) explains the clinic’s uniquely persuasive method—if Dick smokes a cigarette, various horrors will befall his wife and child.

Using the cat that Donatti’s assistant Junk has caught in the street, Donatti demonstrates the first of these horrors: The cat is locked in a cage and given electric shocks. Donatti explains that if his new client should be caught with a cigarette, Dick’s family will be subjected to the same shocks while he is forced to watch.

Dick ultimately cannot resist the temptation, and his wife pays the price. The family then have a dinner party with friends but Dick discovers the women is missing a finger.

.
—– The Ledge……Former tennis pro Johnny Norris (Robert Hays) is involved with a woman whose estranged but jealous husband is a crime boss, casino owner Cressner (Kenneth McMillan). Cressner, who will bet on anything, wins a wager that the cat will successfully cross the busy road outside his casino. He takes the cat home.

Cressner kidnaps Norris. As an amusing form of revenge, Cressner blackmails Norris into a dangerous ordeal: Norris must circumnavigate the exterior ledge of Cressner’s penthouse apartment in a gothic skyscraper. If he can make it all the way around, Cressner will grant his wife a divorce. If Norris refuses, Cressner will call the police and have him arrested for possession of drugs, which have been planted in Norris’ car.

Norris agrees. During the circumnavigation attempt Cressner appears on balconies and at windows to taunt and distract him. Despite Cressner’s efforts Norris makes it back to Cressner’s apartment and they engage in a fight which one of Cressner’s accomplices is shot and Norris is helped by the cat. Norris gains the upper hand and forces Cressner to do the circumnavigation himself. Cressner then comes across a pigeon and tries to kick it away but falls off the ledge and to his death watched by the cat.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
.
—– The General…..The cat is adopted by a little girl, Amanda (Drew Barrymore), who names him General. The cat runs afoul of the girl’s mother (Candy Clark), who believes he will harm their pet parrot.

Despite Amanda’s protests, the mother puts the cat out at night. As a consequence he is unable to protect Amanda from a malevolent troll that has also taken up residence in the house until he manages to find another way in. The troll kills the parrot and then tries to steal Amanda’s breath but General comes in and battles the troll but the troll escapes leaving Amanda and her parents to discover the death of the parrot. The parents are convinced that General killed the parrot but the father discovers a wound on the cat (caused by the trolls dagger in the fight) and starts to have doubts on the mother’s belief that the parrot caused the wound by pecking General.

General is then taken to the animal shelter by the mother and is scheduled to be euthanised the next day (by the mother’s request) but General escapes when given food and makes his way back the girls house.

General again battles and successfuly defeats the troll, causing a great deal of noise. The ruckus awakens her parents, who are initially incapable of getting to her, due to the door being blocked. Once they manage to get into her room, the girl explains to them that General saved her from the troll. The parents are at first unwilling to believe the story until part of the troll’s corpse is discovered as well as the dagger that caused General’s wound in the first battle. Amanda uses the justification that General will keep her safe in case others like her first assailant appear and General is allowed to stay inside at night to act as a protector for Amanda.

Insult to injury: Wallace Weatherholt lost his hand to an alligator and was arrested for feeding the beast

………………………….
.

The 63-year-old lost his right hand after an alligator leaped out of the water and bit off the limb.

The alligator was tracked down and killed, but doctors were unable to reattach the hand.

Holidaymakers on the airboat told wildlife officials Weatherholt had been dangling a fish over the water to entice the alligator.

It is a criminal offence to feed alligators.

Weatherholt, who works at Captain Doug’s Small Airport Tours in Everglades City, was with a party of six tourists when the attack occurred.

Despite losing his hand he was able to steer the airboat back to the base where he was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery.

Feeding gators is a second-degree misdemeanor in Florida.

Nice How To Eye Make Up photos

Some cool how to eye make up images:

Frankenstein’s ‘Monster’
how to eye make up

*** Please Read Below to Get a Better Understanding Of The Make-up***

As everyone knows by now, there have been countless Hollywood creations, BBC productions and various other independent films based off of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, but none of them have stayed true to the book, as they have all drifted away from the book and landed in some distant land, in some other pasture where they attempted to build their own creation, their own story by twisting it and basically completely ignoring the true ‘story’ behind this original, gothic and tragic tale.

Not only were these films quite swathed in their own splendor, but the make-up for the "monsters" of these films which were to depict Frankenstein’s creation were also interweaved and ignored in regards to Mary Shelley’s descriptions (but don’t get me wrong, I enjoy them, but only dream of a director creating the "definitive version" of Frankenstein).

The make-up here, as you see, was hand-made by my uncle over a semi-lengthy period of time using various ingredients from various sources (Dick Smith’s Do It Yourself Monster Make-up book being the most popular) as well as experimenting with various other "thought-up" ways of creating hand-created make-up conglomerations to create the hideous creature that Mary Shelley described in her book over 190 years ago.

The make-up took about 3 hours to apply (including the wig) of which was carefully examined. Then came the lighting of which was used in many different ways during the threaded spools of this project. This particular "portrait" was the strongest of them all, but there are others that were interesting as well of which may or may not be uploaded in the future.

Further-on, below I have provided two passages from Mary’s descriptions from the book, of which I have also highlighted the most "important" portions…

Chapter 5

How can I describe my emotions at this catastrophe, or how delineate the wretch whom with such infinite pains and care I had endeavoured to form? His limbs were in proportion, and I had selected his features as beautiful. Beautiful!–Great God! His yellow skin scarcely covered the work of muscles and arteries beneath; his hair was of a lustrous black, and flowing; his teeth of a pearly whiteness; but these luxuriances only formed a more horrid contrast with his watery eyes, that seemed almost of the same colour as the dun white sockets in which they were set, his shrivelled complexion and straight black lips.

Chapter 24, September 12th —

Over him hung a form which I cannot find words to describe–gigantic in stature, yet uncouth and distorted in its proportions. As he hung over the coffin, his face was concealed by long locks of ragged hair; but one vast hand was extended, in colour and apparent texture like that of a mummy.

***

All-in-all, this is basically our version of how the monster would have appeared had the descriptions from the book been followed properly.

A typical day during the holidays tends to be anything but typical: disrupted sleep, frantic shopping, stretched funds, extended time with dysfunctional families, and parties laden with fatty foods and alcohol.

The result: more stress.

A 2008 poll by the American Psychological Association showed that eight of 10 Americans expected to experience holiday stress, and a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll last year found that 44 percent expected more stress because of economic conditions, an increase over the year before.

"People get out of their routines over the holidays," said Tony Ferretti, a Melbourne psychologist whose specialty is relationship counseling. "So they’re not exercising like they used to.

They’re eating everything in sight. They’re drinking too much. They’re not sleeping normal hours. So they’re vulnerable to being stressed out."

Some people feel pressured to create a perfect holiday experience. Others are reminded of lost loved ones. And unresolved family issues tend to fray the edges of inevitable holiday gatherings.

"Accept that everyone’s family is dysfunctional in some way, shape or form and that you’re not going to change it," Ferretti said. "So it’s not your job to get in there and fix the conflict between your brother and your sister, whoever it might be."

Set boundaries and allow yourself time to get away, whether it’s a walk around the neighborhood, an outing with your spouse or a nap behind closed doors, he suggests. Holidays may not be the best time to work out family conflicts.

"Maybe sometime in January, you might want to have that conversation, or you might want to write that letter," he says. "I think letters can be very powerful, even if you don’t send it."

Forgive transgressors and move on, he said.

With a partner or spouse, share traditions and minimize conflict, Ferretti suggested.

"It’s a stressful time when you’re deciding how much money to spend and finances are tight," he says. "It’s all about working together as a team and compromising."

Physical effects
Ferretti and others advocate exercise to deal with stress, which manifests itself physically as well as mentally.
.

Stress busters

Here are some of Melbourne psychologist Tony Ferretti’s tips for coping with holiday stress. "The past is history, the future a mystery, the present a gift," he says.
Maintain your schedule.
Manage your time.
Get enough rest.
Avoid negative habits.
Live in the here and now.
Say no when you need to.
Seek the support of family and friends.
Have realistic expectations.

"A lot of us tend to take our stress right in the chest," says Viera Wellness' Demetri Kitsopoulos, a massage therapist and wellness consultant. "So with tight chest muscles combined with work ergonomics — we’re slumped over in front of computers in offices — we’re already predisposed to being tight here."

Stretching is important, he said. Deep breathing, along with meditation or prayer, can help calm the mind. And walking and other exercise can help, too.

"You can’t insult Grandmother by not indulging in whatever she made … we indulge a little bit," Kitsopoulos said. "But the need to rush back to the gym is also a bit premature. Take it slow and steady, especially with all the drama of the holidays."

The therapeutic massages he gives to Dr. Edward Mallory, an emergency-room physician at Wuesthoff Medical Center-Rockledge, help the doctor deal with an intensely stressful job and resulting discomfort in his shoulders and back.

"I just feel that a lot of stress has been relieved, because I had an hour with him, and he’s very good," Mallory said.

He exercises a lot, enjoys time with his kids in Tampa on days off, and spends a few minutes in contemplation after coming home to his beachfront condo after the night shift.

"I also will just sit out on the balcony and listen to the water," Mallory said.

It’s important to get out of the fluorescent lights of the office and the shopping malls, Kitsopoulos said.

"Connect with nature. It’s absolutely necessary."

To reduce anxiety, he also recommends clearing clutter and organizing your space before gift-giving time and arriving 30 minutes early for engagements.

Tasty temptations
Food is a holiday pleasure, but it can become a stress monster, whether people don’t eat well or eat too much.

The temptations of holiday treats can lead to overeating, said nutritionist Kristine Van Workum of Brevard Nutrition in Indialantic. Or people gorge themselves after not eating enough.

"People get so involved with everything that’s going on, or they tend to caretake for other people, or want to cook for everything … they end up going too long without eating," said Van Workum, president of the Space Coast Dietetic Association.

Planning helps, as well as making it a priority to eat regular, balanced meals — every three to five hours for most people. Try drinking water if you want to snack; you may just be thirsty.

She works with clients to help them identify whether they are engaged in emotional eating — when the body isn’t hungry — from stress, boredom, fatigue, sadness or happiness.

"Think of meals as at least three different food groups," she said.

Cookies, by the way, are not a food group. But if you want to snack, balance the cookie with a glass of low-fat milk or a piece of fruit, she said.

While cooking holiday meals or baking, look for low-fat ingredients, such as applesauce or Greek yogurt, as alternatives, she suggested. She regularly shares such recipes on Brevard Nutrition’s Facebook page.

"Don’t deprive yourself," Van Workum said. "If your goal is to lose weight, you might want to adapt your goal and just work on maintaining your weight during the holidays."

Giving thanks
Remember the things that are important, Kitsopoulos recommends.

He knows something about stress. Before he became a massage therapist, he left a high-pressure job in movie visual effects after a health scare.

He’s learned to live in the present, let the past go and be thankful.

"In a time when we are labeled as consumers, we should actually be grateful for what we’ve got," he said. "Especially in this economy, people are freaking out about job loss and what they don’t have. What you do have is your health, and if you’re sharing that with friends and family, whether you like them or not," he chuckled, "you’re still sharing an experience that a lot of people don’t have, so it’s something to be

grateful for that."

According to any shopping store, the holidays begin as early as November. Thanksgiving decorations are already going on sale before the turkey is out of the oven. Thursday should be thrown in the Black Friday mix since apparently the event begins the night before the actual day. By the first week of December, Santa is already getting suited up for his photoshoot with thousands of children.

Each year this whole situation tends to be getting more extreme—then comes the moment when the youngest family member comes to the realization that Mr. Claus is not real. Mom and dad no longer have to hide the presents, take a bite of the cookies or leave out food for Santa's reindeers. When things couldn't get worse, your mom hands you the list of family members you have to get gifts for because she is running out of time. This is what we come home to after a grueling week of finals and papers.

This is the moment when I think to myself, "What happened to the joys of the holidays?" At this point, the only thing that could lift my spirits is Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You" on repeat.

So how does one avoid the holiday blues under these circumstances? My first thought is to throw a dramatic tantrum and boycott anything holiday-oriented. That changed when I remembered all the food I will be missing out on. So, I figured the best way to go about this is to go back to the basics.

The holidays are about enjoying the company of our friends and family and celebrating the end to another wonderful year. Even though some artists, who will remain nameless, butcher the classic holiday songs, everyone always enjoys listening to holiday music. Making a CD of your favorite holiday music is always a good item to have and give to friends. That list of gifts your mom gave you can be easily taken care of without the stress of entering the mall.

Instead of buying someone another pair of slippers or a beach bag, opt for something more personal like photographs. Grandparents especially love photographs of their grandchildren so they can show off to all of their friends. For the young family members, hiding elves around the house is entertaining and time consuming. Once your mom's to-do list is taken care of, it is time to get into the real reason for the season—the holidays are a perfect opportunity to give back to the community.

There are endless charities and organizations that distribute toys and meals to families who are struggling to afford one gift for their child. Seeing those kid's faces when they see Santa with a gift in his hands erases your memory of the trips to the mall, the rolled eyes and the frustration of the holidays.

The holidays should not be about the amount of inflatables we can stick on our lawns or the height of our trees. At the end of the day, after all of the perfectly wrapped gifts are ripped apart, the love in the room is the best gift of all.

*Insert Eye Pun Here*
how to eye make up

Okily-dokily guys, this is a bit of a change from the latest pictures I’ve been uploading. Unless you can’t see as you are blind, this isn’t a photo of a super fast, flame throwing Lamborghini, but instead it is a photo…of an eye. To be honest, if you were blind, you wouldn’t even be able to see the photo, but I’ll gloss over that.

Right now, I should say something deep and meaningful about eyes and how they are ‘the window to the soul’ and some other stuff about ‘science and religion’. Well, I kinda did go a bit deep there!!!
But I would like you all to take a moment to gaze into the eyes of this person (of god, where is this going??!?!) and wonder ‘What do they see?’. Well, if you really want to know, you can just go and check out his Flickr stream, as this is the eye of my fellow photography enthusiast, and friend, Joe Atkin, or Jatkin for short. (Linky thingy – joeatkin97)

I would like all of you to just go and check out his stream, comment on his photos as we are both doing a GCSE Art Photography related coursey thingy-majig, and even add him as a contact. All feedback will be gratefully recieved, and, if he wants to/can be bothered, I’m sure he’ll check out your streams and comment back on your photos.

As ever guys, please give me feedback, whether it be positive or negative, as it will really help me, and Jatkin in the future! And for ever comment/favourite I get, I’ll be sure to comment/favourite you back!!
This was my first attempt at photographing an eye also, so, yes it isn’t the best photo ever, but I’m pretty pleased with the results! I used tube extension on my reversed 50mm f1.8 lens for some super close up action!! It is bloody hard to get a good shot though!!!

Thank you all for reading this, I hope you liked my description as I make it up as I go along and type in exactly what I’m thinking about. It shows just how strange my brain is, and how often I use words that are so good they aren’t even in the dictionary. Wow, now I’m just waffling on…mmm, waffles…

Tom :D

Oh, have you guys got any good eye puns? Its just my title seemed a bit bland!! ;)

Cool Eye Makeup Ideas-What are some good makeup tips for indian eyes?

Question by Sriparna S: What are some good makeup tips for indian eyes?
I have the typical dark brown indian eyes and black hair. My skin is tan, not too dark and not too light. What are some cool eye makeup ideas for me? How should I do a smokey eye? Any and all tips excepted:)

Best answer:

Answer by ♥Dreaming is believing♥
For makeup for your eyes you need shadows, eyeliners, mascara etc.

Eye Shadows

1. Use lighter shades to highlight under the brow,

2. Use darker shades on the lid and the crease of the eye.

3. If You want to apply light shades (e.g., blue, beige, light green, light gray etc.), first draw a thin line with liquid eye liner or sharp eye pencil over the upper lash line as close to it as possible (because light shades makes your eyes seems smaller than they are).

Mascara

1. Use black mascara (it suits better to any shadows).

2. If you prefer blue or brown mascara, for best result, draw a thin line with same colour liquid eyeliner or sharp eye pencil over the upper lash line as close to it as possible or just apply same colour (like mascara) shadows.

3. If you have short lashes, use lengthening mascara.

4. If you have thin lashes, use voluptuous mascara.

5. If you have sensitive eyes, use gentle mascara for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.

6. Waterproof mascara is best choice in monsoon, or when your eyes are watering (for example when you have a cold).

Some useful tips

For brown and black eyes: All shades of brown, beige, gray shadows and black or brown mascara looks wonderful. Lilac, violet shadows are very attractive also, especially in combination with same colour dress.

For green and brown – green eyes: Use all shades of green, beige, light – brown shadows and black mascara. Avoid pink or brown shadows.

For gray and blue eyes: Use all shades of blue, gray, dark – blue, beige shadows and black or blue mascara.

For Deep-Set Eyes: Rely on pale, shimmery shades to enhance your eyes. Sweep a light eye shadow shade across lid from inner corner to a small bit beyond the outer corner. Place a touch of a deeper shade in the eye crease. Blend.

For Wide-Set Eyes: Make them appear closer by applying a deeper eye shadow shade from inner corner to mid-lid. Apply a lighter shade from mid-lid to outer corner. Blend in the middle of lid where shades meet.

For Close-Set Eyes: Make them appear wider by applying a dot of concealer to the innermost corner of both eyes. Create a very thin pencil line near lash edge of top lid that thickens toward the outer corner. Create a very thin eye shadow in a pale shade from inner corner to mid-lid; apply a just-slightly deeper shade from mid-lid to outer corner; blend in the middle.

Green Eye Make Up-What are some flattering makeup tips for someone with dark brown hair and dark blue-green eyes?

Question by rocker-in-heels: What are some flattering makeup tips for someone with dark brown hair and dark blue-green eyes?
I am a girl who doesn’t wear much makeup, foundation an mascara mostly, and was wondering which eyeshadow colors would accentuate my blue/green eye color but still look good with my dark brown hair? What would be best to wear to work or casual day looks? And night out looks that pick up the drama. Any help is appreciated. :)

Best answer:

Answer by Yianna B
Eyeshadow shades that accentuate bluey green eyes & go with dark brown hair are; neutral, bronze, violets, lavender, orange, apricot, pinks, Silver, blue, and Mauve.

For work or just a casual day the best choices would be; a warm, neutral shadow.

For the night outs i suggest; violet, and pink!

Browns are gorgeous with blue eyes, here is a picture for natural makeup, for blue eyes.

Blue eyes pop with brown shadows, and greys. But for a more natural look, go with brown. A little mascara, and gloss would look pretty. The thing with brown shadow, it goes with any color of gloss practically!

Have fun experimenting, and hope I helped! :]
