First kit is the home kit and the color is the base, like we have blue color since our primary or base color is blue.
Chelsea have always worn blue shirts, although they initially adopted a lighter shade than the current version, and unlike today wore white shorts and dark blue socks. The lighter blue was taken from the racing colours of then club president, Earl Cadogan. The light blue shirts were short-lived, however, and replaced by a royal blue version in around 1912

2) – Second kit or away kit is not dependent on base color and can have any color the club wants. this kit is used when we are the visitors i.e, away. it can also be used at home or when the away color of opposong team is similar to our home color at home.

3) – Third kits are used if both home and away colours are deems to be too similar to the opposing team colours.
