VFS had a strong showing at the Vancouver 2011 International Make-Up Artist Trade Show (IMATS) Student Competition. In total, eight Makeup Design for Film & Television students represented VFS in all competitions, with VFS holding seven of the eight spots in the Character/Prosthetic Student Competition.
Recent grad Leah Wilburn took top prize in the Character/Prosthetic Student Competition, while Carly Wolk placed third over the weekend. Prosthetic materials are supplied by IMATS, and each competitor has three hours to design and create a makeup application based on a specific theme. This year's creations were inspired by mythological creatures.
